Wise Child Wine Store in Fremantle is expanding, transitioning into a wine bar. Lucy Byrnes and James Whineray, along with their team, have built a strong following. In July, the store will offer a bar experience. With a new tavern license, customers can now sit and enjoy wine. Byrnes aims to enhance the existing bottle shop. The expansion includes extended hours. The venue will have around 30 seats initially. Seating will extend to Market Street. Bottles from the shop can be opened on-site. A rotating selection of wines will be available. The bar will offer a variety of wines, including Australian wines. Beers like Swan Draught and Emu Export will be available. The food menu will include shareable items, such as platters with cheese and pickles. The expanded format is expected to launch in July 2026, with the bottle shop continuing as usual.
