The Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) has announced a temporary disruption in motor vehicle registration-related transactions across all tax offices islandwide, as well as online via eServices. According to a statement released on Monday, May 4, 2026, the issue stems from ongoing system disruptions affecting the platform used to process these services. As a result, customers are unable to complete transactions such as renewals, new registrations, vehicle transfers, or the purchase of registration plates, both in-office and online. However, payments for motor vehicle certificates of fitness and traffic tickets are not affected and can still be processed through the TAJ eServices platform or in person at any tax office. The TAJ's technical team is actively working to resolve the issues and restore full functionality as quickly as possible, and they have expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.
