Former Arizona news anchor Kari Lake has been nominated by former US President Donald Trump to be the next US Ambassador to Jamaica. If confirmed by the US Senate, Lake will replace Nick Perry, whose term ended in January 2025. Lake, a staunch Trump supporter, ran unsuccessfully for Arizona Governor in 2022. She gained prominence after disputing the results of the 2020 Presidential Election. Prior to the nomination, Lake served as a special advisor to the US Agency for Global Media, beginning in March 2025.
