Trump reposted a video clip and transcript from conservative commentator Michael Savage, who was discussing ending birthright citizenship in the U.S. Birthright citizenship grants automatic nationality to children born in a country, regardless of their parents' immigration status. The repost included the statement: "A baby here becomes an instant citizen, and then they bring the entire family in from China or India or some other hellhole on the planet.” Savage also claimed English isn't widely spoken in the U.S., immigrants lack loyalty, and California's tech sector favors people from India and China over white Americans. He said white men "need not apply" for jobs in California. Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called the comments "obviously uninformed, inappropriate and in poor taste," stating they don't reflect the India-U.S. relationship, which is based on mutual respect. China hasn't responded yet.
