The tragic circumstances surrounding Dylan Carter's death have been unveiled. The 24-year-old contestant from season 24 of 'The Voice' passed away as a result of blunt force trauma sustained in a car accident in Colleton County, South Carolina, as reported by TMZ on Monday. The Colleton County coroner has ruled the incident an accident, confirming that Carter was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. According to law enforcement sources, Carter was driving a 2026 Tesla sedan alone shortly after 11 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, which veered off the road, collided with a pole and a fence, and subsequently rolled over. He succumbed to his injuries later in the hospital. Known for his impressive audition where he performed Whitney Houston's hit 'I Look to You', dedicated to his late mother, Carter made a lasting impression on the judges, including Gwen Stefani, John Legend, Reba McEntire, and Niall Horan, all of whom turned their chairs for him. He ultimately selected McEntire as his coach but was eliminated during the Battle Rounds. Following the announcement of his death, Carter's family expressed their heartbreak in a statement shared on Facebook. They highlighted his talent as a singer who frequently entertained the community at local events, noting his kindness and the respect he earned. The Town of Moncks Corner and its officials extended their condolences, emphasizing that he was not just an entertainer but a cherished friend to many.
