Four students from St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) have been charged by the police following a series of fights that occurred last Wednesday. The incidents, which took place between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, led to the school being shut down for two days last week. The charges stem from an assault on a 15-year-old schoolmate. Two of the charged schoolgirls are 14 years old, while the others are 16 and 13. STETHS Principal Keith Wellington stated that reports would be provided to oversight bodies before decisions on further actions are made. The school was closed to protect the safety of the community and maintain discipline, with the exception of students taking external exams and those preparing for sports competitions. Reports indicated that one fight allegedly involved a student with a knife. The school is located in Santa Cruz, St Elizabeth.
