The semi-finals of the South-South Female Cricket League are set after zonal matches in Benin City and Port Harcourt, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. The league is part of the Nigeria Cricket Federation's busy schedule, with many national team players returning after the Female Yellow Greens' success at the 2026 NCF T20I tournament. Nine clubs competed, including 2024 winners Idia Royals, Adolor Amazons, Emotan Queens Cricket Club, and Ekpoma Supernova Cricket Club from Edo State. Others included Delta Force Cricket Club, Uniport Pathfinders, and Dragons Cricket Club, along with Smashers and Rangers Cricket Club from Akwa Ibom State. The semi-finalists are Idia Royals of Benin, Smashers of Akwa Ibom, Uniport Pathfinders of Port Harcourt, and Delta Force. The semi-finals will be held this weekend. Sponsored by Uyi Akpata, the Edo State Cricket Association chairman and NCF president, the South-South Female League began in 2021 as the first women's league in Nigeria. Akpata highlighted the league's role in promoting women's cricket and gender balance in the sport.
