Chef Courtney Allen in South Florida is working with local restaurants to help feed families struggling with food insecurity. Chef Michael Schwartz is making a culinary impact with his restaurants, Michael’s Genuine Food and Drink, and Amara at Paraiso. He supports the community with food. He works with Rethink Food, a non-profit that provides meals to families. Restaurants like Amara collect donations, and Rethink Food sends the money to neighborhood restaurants that prepare meals. At Amara, diners can add a 2% donation to Rethink Food, which goes to Le Jardin restaurant in Little Haiti, Miami. Le Jardin prepares and delivers meals multiple times a week to those in need.
