Santos is participating in the 10th Meeting of the Brazilian Network of Creative Cities of UNESCO (ECRIATIVA) in Florianópolis, Brazil. The event, which began on Wednesday, May 13th, and runs until Saturday, May 16th, brings together representatives from Brazilian municipalities in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, along with national and international guests. Santos is celebrating over a decade of recognition as a UNESCO Creative City in the field of Cinema, a title it earned in 2015. The city highlights its strong history in the audiovisual sector, including film festivals, public and commercial cinemas, professional training, and the work of the Santos Film Commission. The Cinescola Querô, located in Vila Criativa da Vila Nova, is also a key element. The institute promotes cinema activities, including editing rooms, a popular cinema, and original productions. The Sessão Pipoca, in partnership with the Sociedade de Melhoramentos da Vila Nova, offers free screenings for children and residents. The UNESCO Creative Cities Network includes approximately 350 cities in over 100 countries, across seven creative areas: Crafts, Design, Cinema, Gastronomy, Literature, Media, and Music.
