In court, two mothers described their devastation at the actions of Steven Andrews, a paedophile who sexually abused their daughters. Andrews used money, gifts, and a Lego set to groom his victims. He was an armed forces veteran who abused one girl for about two years before targeting another. One mother stated that her family is shattered and that she will never forgive him. Liverpool Crown Court heard how Andrews abused the first complainant, who was as young as nine. He gave her money and gifts, including a Lego set, and sent her text messages. Her father said his life has been turned upside down, and he lives with overwhelming guilt. The girl's mother said that Andrews stole her childhood, and she wishes she didn't live anymore. Andrews also sexually assaulted a second girl. Her mother said that her life has never been the same since Andrews was arrested. Andrews was sentenced to six-and-a-half years in jail and given a lifelong sexual harm prevention order.
