Three players from Jharkhand, including Salima Tete as captain, Nikki Pradhan, and Deepika Soreng, have been selected for the Indian women’s hockey team's tour of Australia. The team will play a four-match series in Perth from May 26 to May 30. Furthermore, the Centre approved an increase in MBBS and postgraduate seats in Jharkhand's medical institutions. The number of MBBS seats at Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad will increase. The state will also host its first franchise-based professional T20 cricket league, starting in the first week of June. The Jharkhand State Cricket Association authorized SJ Uplift to run the tournament. The league will feature six men’s teams and a women’s league with three teams, with all matches open to the public.
