Jamaica's Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, welcomed Porter Airlines' new direct service to Montego Bay from Canada. This expansion marks a significant increase in flights between Canada and Jamaica for the 2026-27 winter season. The new routes provide greater access from markets with strong interest in Caribbean travel. The service from Hamilton is a new gateway, connecting Jamaica with travelers across the Greater Golden Horseshoe region. Porter Airlines will operate flights to Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay from Toronto, Ottawa, and Hamilton. Canada is a key market for Jamaica, and these flights offer Canadians easy access to the island's beaches and culture. The new routes are part of Porter's winter expansion, adding new countries and routes. The Jamaica Tourist Board's Angella Bennett stated that they are working with Porter to ensure the flights are successful.
