The Jamaican Ministry of Agriculture is taking back agro-park lands from holders who haven't put them into production. Agriculture Minister Floyd Green stated that 120 acres were reclaimed in 2025, and another 280 acres have been identified for repossession if farmers fail to use them actively. Green emphasized the importance of utilizing the land within the agro-parks, aiming to increase utilization to nearly 80 percent. Following last year's announcement, the Ministry plans to establish agro-parks in every parish. These include New Pen in St. Mary, where a well has been developed, and Low Leyton in Portland, with design work underway. Feasibility studies are also in progress in several other locations. Additionally, an Agro-Park Redevelopment Programme is in place to improve infrastructure, including the Ebony Park Greenhouse Rehabilitation Project, which will restore protected production capacity and improve crop quality.
