India and the Netherlands have agreed to elevate their relationship to a strategic partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit. This announcement followed discussions between PM Modi and Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten in The Hague. The visit is part of a broader European tour aimed at strengthening ties with key partners. Discussions covered trade, defense, technology, water management, clean energy, healthcare, and education. Several agreements were signed to boost collaboration. PM Modi highlighted the significant progress in India-Netherlands relations over the past decade, emphasizing shared democratic values, economic cooperation, and strong people-to-people ties. He stressed the importance of cooperation in innovation, sustainability, investment, and defense. Dutch PM Jetten also underscored the growing importance of ties with India. Before the talks, PM Modi and Jetten participated in a CEO Roundtable. PM Modi invited Dutch companies to invest in India, specifically in renewable energy, semiconductors, digital technology, AI, maritime infrastructure, and healthcare. He highlighted India's rapid economic growth and reforms. During the visit, an agreement was signed between Tata Electronics and ASML to support India’s first semiconductor fabrication facility.
