Prime Minister Andrew Holness clarified misconceptions about the implementation of the National Reconstruction and Resilience Authority (NaRRA). NaRRA aims to coordinate post-hurricane reconstruction and eliminate bureaucracy. Holness emphasized that assumptions suggesting NaRRA lacks proper oversight could be counterproductive. The authority will develop a register of projects. A dual-layer reporting structure is established, including the Jamaica Reconstruction and Resilience Oversight Committee (JAMRROC). Holness urged local contractors to embrace NaRRA and prepare for global competition. He noted that the current timelines for government projects pose risks. NaRRA will operate at an international pace.
