Flow and the Flow Foundation celebrated Girls in ICT Day by hosting an AI workshop in Kingston, Jamaica. The event aimed to equip high school girls with skills and confidence in the digital world. Over 100 students from various schools participated in the hands-on workshop, learning about AI fundamentals and applications. The workshop, led by Stacey Hines, covered AI's real-world uses, including Caribbean-based case studies. Students explored AI's potential in solving social and economic challenges and designed AI-powered solutions. The event included a pitch competition, with the winning team receiving a Samsung tablet. Participants expressed that the workshop made AI less intimidating and showed how it could be used to solve community problems. Flow's Senior Director for Digital Transformation, Maya Walrond, emphasized the company's commitment to preparing young people for the digital future. Through initiatives like this, Flow is helping build a more inclusive and innovative digital future for Jamaica.
