The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off with a series of spectacular opening ceremonies. Mexico, the United States, and Canada will each host a star-studded event, featuring performances by global music stars. FIFA confirmed the plans, revealing that the opening ceremonies will include Katy Perry, Future, Alanis Morissette, Michael Buble, J Balvin, and Lisa. Mexico will begin the festivities, 90 minutes before the opening match between Mexico and South Africa on June 11 at Azteca Stadium, which will be temporarily renamed Mexico City Stadium for the tournament. The show will feature J Balvin, the Mexican rock band Mana, and pop star Alejandro Fernandez. Also performing will be Belinda, Lila Downs, Tyla, and Los Angeles Azules. FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that these ceremonies will unite music, culture, and football, reflecting the unique identity of each nation. Canada's opening ceremony will take place on June 12 in Toronto, where they will face Bosnia and Hercegovina. The lineup includes Morissette, Buble, Alessia Cara, Elyanna, Jessie Reyez, and Nora Fatehi. The United States will host their ceremony later that day in Los Angeles, before their match against Paraguay. The event will feature Katy Perry, Future, Lisa from Blackpink, Anitta, Rema, and Tyla. Additional artists are yet to be announced.
