At 19, Kimi Antonelli is making waves in the Formula 1 (F1) season. Amidst the excitement surrounding this rising talent, fans and the Italian press have drawn comparisons between the young driver and motorsport legends, including Ayrton Senna. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has called these comparisons "disrespectful" and urged caution when discussing the Italian driver. Domenicali stated that comparing Kimi to past greats is unfair to him and disrespectful to motorsport legends. He also mentioned that he knew all of them, from Senna to Schumacher, Räikkönen to Alonso, and Hamilton and Verstappen. Domenicali highlighted similarities between Antonelli and another Italian sports star: tennis player Jannik Sinner, currently ranked number one in the ATP. He noted Antonelli's quick learning from mistakes, and said it's understandable that Italians compare him to Sinner because they recognize the emotions he evokes. With victories in the Chinese, Japanese, and Miami Grands Prix, Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers' World Championship with 100 points. His Mercedes teammate, George Russell, is second with 80 points. The F1 season continues with the Canadian Grand Prix from May 22 to 24 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The weekend will also feature a sprint race. The schedule includes practice, sprint qualifying, sprint race, qualifying, and the main race.
