U.S. Customs and Border Protection has reported the deportation of twenty-seven cruise ship workers due to their involvement with child pornography. The investigation, conducted last month, involved CBP officers boarding eight cruise ships. The agency determined that the crew members were involved in the receipt, possession, transportation, distribution, or viewing of child sexual exploitation material. Their visas were subsequently canceled, and they were deported to their home countries. The majority of those involved were from the Philippines, with others from Portugal and Indonesia. The CBP has not released the names of the individuals involved. Disney Cruise Line has stated that it cooperated fully with law enforcement and has a zero-tolerance policy. Holland America echoed a similar policy, calling the allegations deeply disturbing. The CBP enforcement actions occurred on the Disney cruise ship Magic, docked at the San Diego Bay harbor. The Port of San Diego’s Harbor Police was not involved in the operation due to state law restrictions and CBP jurisdiction.
