A young girl and her mother are the most recent victims in a series of dingo attacks occurring at a well-known campground in Western Australia's second-largest national park. Rangers authorized to eliminate the animals were conducting patrols at Karijini National Park, located approximately 250 kilometers south of Port Hedland, while the troublesome dingoes roamed freely overnight. Remarkably bold dingoes have been seen circling the Dales Gorge Campground. Camper Drue Ballantyne shared, "Everything's scarier at night time and the kids were scared for the first time in their lives." His family of five endured a restless night huddled together in a swag. "One was trying to get through the swags; my partner used his headlamp and a long stick to keep a distance, and yelled 'Oi' to scare it away," she recounted. Just in the past week, there have been three dingo encounters at this remote campground. On Wednesday night, a four-year-old girl suffered a bite on her leg while her mother was also nipped while attempting to shield her. Both were subsequently taken to Tom Price Hospital in the town of the same name. Earlier, on Monday, a six-year-old boy required hospital treatment after being bitten on the neck and arm. Additionally, last Saturday, another six-year-old girl was approached by an aggressive dingo, which nipped at her clothing, but she fortunately escaped unharmed.
