Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu reviewed Delhi Airport's preparations for the implementation of hub-and-spoke operations. The review took place during a high-level meeting with key stakeholders at the airport. Senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, Customs, Airports Authority of India, Directorate General of Civil Aviation, CISF, DigiYatra, and Delhi International Airport Limited, along with leading airlines, were in attendance. The Minister also participated in an on-ground walkthrough of passenger flow systems and inspected the Security Hold Area at Terminal 3 to evaluate operational readiness. The National Civil Aviation Policy 2016, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, aims to position India as a premier aviation hub by 2030 and for the world by 2047. The government has developed an International Aviation Hub Strategy, which includes measures such as adjusting the granting of Points of Call to foreign carriers, renegotiating bilateral agreements to support Indian carriers, and liberalizing domestic code-share arrangements to expand the global reach of Indian airlines.
