In Thane, Maharashtra, a dispute over construction activities led to a violent clash between two rival groups, resulting in injuries. The incident occurred in the Kalwa area on the night of May 8th. According to officials, nearly 20 people, including women, were involved in the altercation, throwing stones and using iron rods. During the violence, a house was ransacked, a car was damaged, and documents were destroyed. Four people were injured and received treatment at a local hospital. Police have registered two FIRs against 20 individuals on charges of rioting, assault, and criminal intimidation. No arrests have been made yet, and an investigation is ongoing. Separately, Thane police successfully recovered 110 lost mobile phones, valued at Rs 18.65 lakh, and returned them to their owners. These phones had been reported lost in the Kalwa area since last year and were traced using technical surveillance. In another incident, three parked two-wheelers were damaged in a fire in the Kopri area of Thane East during the early hours of Saturday.
