After a year of pop-ups, Adriel Reddy's Chicky Boi fried chicken has found a permanent home on Brunswick Street. Reddy took over Near & Far bottle shop in April. The operation is a joint venture between Reddy and Near & Far founder Jason Cameron. Chicky Boi began as dinner parties for friends before growing through pop-ups. It started at South Yarra’s Pound cafe in September 2024. This led to a large increase in demand. The move to a full-time setup marks another shift in scale. Reddy says opening weekend was a shock. Social media amplified the growth, but Reddy emphasizes the product itself. The fried chicken sandwich is the main attraction, with a crispy coating and well-seasoned meat. The menu includes the Chicky Boi OG, Spicy Boi, Honey Boi, and Basic Boi, along with sides. The original bar area remains, serving local craft beers and cocktails. Chicky Boi is located at 375 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy.
