An aircraft crashed off the coast of Fort Pierce in Florida on Tuesday. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) in The Bahamas confirmed the incident. The Beechcraft 300 King aircraft with registration HP-1859 had departed the Leonard Thompson International Airport in Abaco. The pilot declared an emergency with air traffic control, and communication was subsequently lost. Freeport and Nassau air traffic control initiated emergency protocols. Search and rescue by the US Coast Guard located the downed aircraft. Ten people were rescued, with three receiving injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
