Anthropic is planning to provide its Mythos AI model to European banks, following the initial access given to major US banks. The move comes as global banks are racing to test the technology. Mythos is seen as a significant challenge to the banking industry and its existing systems, leading to warnings from regulators. Several US banks have been granted access. Anthropic aims to expand access to European and UK banks, with checks to ensure secure rollout. Some sources suggest access could be available to European banks within days or weeks. Anthropic initially provided access to partners in its Project Glasswing initiative and other organizations. JPMorgan Chase has publicly confirmed access, while Bank of America has been testing the technology internally. Regulators are examining the cybersecurity risks posed by the new AI model. German central bank chief Joachim Nagel emphasized the need for all institutions to have access to ensure fair competition and prevent misuse.
