A teenager has been charged with assault and public nuisance after allegedly attacking influencer Amos Yee at a convention in Singapore. Bosco Chun Ho Wang, 18, is accused of punching and kicking Yee, 27, at the Doujima anime convention. Chun was offered bail and his case will be heard again in June. Videos circulated online show a person dressed as a character from the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen attacking a man, allegedly Yee. The event organizers stated that Yee was banned from the convention after announcing his intention to attend and was already off the premises when the altercation occurred. They emphasized that they do not condone violence and prioritize the safety of attendees. Yee was previously deported from the US and faces charges in Singapore related to failing to report for national service and remaining outside the country without a valid permit. He had sought asylum in the US after making derogatory comments about religious groups in Singapore. Yee's case is still pending.
