Amazon is set to revolutionize consumer expectations by offering ultra-fast delivery, with the goal of fulfilling urgent product needs within 30 minutes for an additional fee. Building upon its history of fast shipping, the company is establishing small order-processing hubs in numerous cities across the U.S. and internationally to cater to customers who need items quickly. This service, known as Amazon Now, is currently available in various urban areas, including parts of the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates. These mini-warehouses stock approximately 3,500 products, such as groceries, medications, and other essential items. Amazon's head of transportation, Beryl Tomay, stated that faster delivery speeds lead to increased customer purchases. The service began in Seattle and Philadelphia and is now available in Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Denver, and many other cities, with New York City and others expected by year-end. Amazon Now charges start at $3.99 for Prime members and $13.99 for non-members, with a small basket fee for some orders.
